This Weekend's Wingnut-ism

So, we're having a nice breakfast at the most popular breakfast spot in Sacramento: The Fox & Goose. It's a British pub in an old brick warehouse all decked out in eclectic british type decor. It's a really place. They have bangers!

Anyway, five of us are eating & chatting this past Sunday morning. I glanced down the long narrow seating area and saw a chalkboard with this written on it "Wines".
Wingnut inner dialogue: "Hmm, someone forgot the 't' and the extra 's' in "witness".

No, it didn't occur to me that a sign saying "Witness" would be odd. Needless to say, the table got quite a kick out of this when I shared my thought with them. Actually, the chalkboard listed the different types of wines offered, so it turns out that the title was appropriate.

P.S. The Fox & Goose has the best scones ever!!!

Nice to see some decent content for a change. FYI, I log on today and see that we've got a new feature, the 'Flag blog' button, which is inconveniently located between the 'Get Your Own Blog' and 'Next Blog' buttons so that we would presumably be getting some flags on error alone (although if one happens to notice it, you can unflag a blog) But that's a trivial matter. What concerns me is this: When a person visiting a blog clicks the "Flag?" button in the Blogger Navbar, it means they believe the content of the blog may be potentially offensive or illegal. We track the number of times a blog has been flagged as objectionable and use this information to determine what action is needed. This feature allows the blogging community as a whole to identify content they deem objectionable. Ok, see the problem with this? What's "objectionable. And there lies the problem: what is objectionable? Just my 2 cents, Colored Contact Lenses

  5. Another fabulous thing about the Fox and Goose (besides their fairly decent selection of beer) is that they have live music at night very frequently. And it happens to have just about the best atmosphere....
